What Materials Work Best for a Kitchen Backsplash

A majority of new kitchens in Albuquerque feature ceramic or porcelain backsplashes. Their durability, protection, and beauty are all similar. You don’t have to limit yourself to them, though. Take a look at these backsplash materials if you want to give your kitchen a new look.

Tiles

Among the various types of tiles available, you have your choice of ceramic, glass, or natural stone. The reason tile is such a popular choice is because it’s impermeable and provides excellent protection for walls. Clean up is also a breeze.

The style of your kitchen will determine what kind of tile you should use. You can create a backsplash that matches the design of your kitchen by working with your cabinet company.

In modern kitchens as well as retro-inspired kitchens, white ceramic tiles ensure a beautiful finish. You can have a luxurious kitchen by using marble as a natural stone. You can add a bright and funky touch with glass.

Glass

Use tempered glass instead of glass tiles. It’s a good way to add safe lighting over your stove. A wall behind the glass can also be painted or wallpapered to your liking.

Chalkboard Paint

You can paint your backsplash area with chalkboard paint for a low-cost and creative option. It is an easy DIY project that you can do yourself. This application lets you create shopping lists, write notes, or create menu ideas.

Simply wipe it clean when you’re ready for a fresh start. A downside to black painting is, however, that it may close in your kitchen and make it appear smaller.

Mirror

Utilizing a mirror as a backsplash can open up a small kitchen. Reflective surfaces bounce light around the room. Spaces that are lit well are more inviting.

The mirror’s surface is easily kept clean; however, any little residue or dirt on its surface will be visible.

Wallpaper

Fast or easy options are available with this material, but it hardly provides the highest level of protection. It is also important to consider the effect that moisture will have on the wallpaper and causes it to peel.

Stainless Steel

By lining the backsplash with stainless steel, you can create a modern look and coordinate your appliances with stainless steel. Due to its durability, ease of cleaning, and high temperature resistance, it is an ideal choice.

Keep an eye out for acidic foods. If the finish is not immediately cleaned, the acid will ruin the finish.

Choose From These Backsplash Materials

If you are looking for a backsplash for your kitchen, consider one of these materials. If you do a lot of cooking, you’ll need a durable and protective jacket.

Chalkboard paint and wallpaper are some materials that can be applied by hand. Other materials, such as tile, marble, and stainless steel, should be handled by a professional.
