Whether or not you plan to sell your home in Albuquerque during the spring selling season, now is a perfect time to deep clean your home, for obvious reasons. Cleaning your home now will help your family stay healthier. We all have the time and could also use a productive task to keep us busy and feeling a sense of accomplishment. And if you do plan to sell your home, it will be ready to show to Albuquerque home buyers who are especially going to notice cleanliness when they view homes for sale.
Here’s a few affordable and easy Spring cleaning tasks that will get your home cleaner fast.
Doormats
Instead of just the outside mat, use one inside the door as well. This will trap more dirt. You can easily clean the outside may by hosing it off and air-drying it. When you clean the indoor mat, vacuum the back side as well to push dirt to the floor where you can pick it up easily.
Windows
Cleaning your windows on an overcast day will help get your windows cleaner, as direct sun can lead to streaks. Make sure to clean your blinds and curtains as well.
Kitchen Sink Stink
Are you having a tough time getting rid of smells coming from your kitchen sink disposal? Try running a couple of lemon rind slivers through your garbage disposal and follow with cold water to dispel the smell.
Microwave
Is your microwave filled with tough grime? You can beat those stains by placing a large microwave-safe bowl with 1 cup of water and a chopped-up lemon, lime, or orange or several tablespoons of vinegar inside. Turn the microwave on high until the solution boils and the window is steamy, then let it sit to cool for 15 minutes before opening the door. Remove and wipe out the inside and outside with a sponge.
Fridge
When you clean your refrigerator, don’t just stop at the shelves. Remove everything, along with the shelves and drawers, and wash in warm, soapy water to get rid of food bacteria and spillage.
Shower Curtain
Did you know that you can wash your plastic or vinyl curtain in your washing machine? Just wash it on the gentle cycle with detergent and add a couple of bath towels for extra cleaning power. Then hang it out to dry. If you want to keep it clean longer, spritz it a few times each month with a bleach-containing all-purpose cleaner, then just let the shower rinse it off (before you hop in).
Furniture
Pull out your furniture from the walls and vacuum behind and under it, along with cleaning air vents and woodwork. Go over your upholstery with the furniture tool on your vacuum, covering both sides of cushions.
Bookshelves
While you dust your bookshelves, take the opportunity to organize your books. You can alphabetize, coordinate by color, or sort by size.
Ceilings
Ceiling are often forgot about during regular cleaning. Grab an extendable duster and attack ceiling fans, hanging and recessed lights, moldings and more.
