As summer temps rage on, perhaps you’re looking for ways to stay cool in Albuquerque. Thankfully there are plenty of great water attractions and pools to help beat the heat. Here are a few local water parks and pools in Albuquerque to enjoy this summer.

Cliff’s Amusement Park is a combination amusement park and water park in Albuquerque. It opened in 1959. It features 24 rides for all ages, food, and carnival style games. It also features a water attraction, WaterMania!, which operates Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. It also has the only wooden-hybrid roller coaster in New Mexico, the final coaster designed by Custom Coasters International, called the New Mexico Rattler.

West Mesa Aquatic Center is the site of the City’s newest Olympic pool.
This is an excellent pool for lap swimming, recreational swimming, exercise classes, swim meets and other activities.

Highland Pool has 11 lap lanes available for your use during lap swim, Mon-Fri
6:00-8:00 am 11:45 am -1:15 pm, and 12:00-1:00 pm on sat and sun. During rec swim we will have 5 lanes available from 6:00-8:00 pm. During rc swim we will be opening up both diving boards. For more information please call (505)256-2096.

The aquatics program provides swim lessons, open swim, water aerobics, pool/spray park rentals, water safety instruction, senior water aerobics, lap swimming, swim team, masters. Beginning Aug. 9, Rio Grande Pool, will change to winter hours as follows:
ADULT LAP SWIM:
Monday through Friday 6 – 8 a.m. and noon – 2 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. – noon
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Monday through Friday 2:30 – 4:45 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday Noon – 2:15 p.m. and 2:30 – 4:45 p.m.

Valley Pool is one of three public pools operated by the City of Albuquerque used in conjunction with Albuquerque Public School events. Valley is available to school students and athletes, as well as the public.
Children under 10 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children ages 8 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times while in the water. Therefore, they both need to be in the water.
