How to Set up a Lighting Plan for Your Albuquerque Home

When was the last time you experienced the perfect lighting ambience? Perhaps it’s one of your favorite hotels or restaurants, or staying at a friend’s house. How did they achieve the right lighting scheme? Lights must be considered and planned carefully, and putting lights in random places won’t achieve the mood you are trying to achieve.

How can you create an ideal lighting scheme? By making a lighting plan. In much the same way you make a floor plan, you draw out your lighting zones, noting what they will be used for, and how you want them to feel. By doing so, you will create just the right atmosphere for your home, purchase just the right amount of lighting, and know exactly what you need and want.

Here are some areas in your Albuquerque home that can benefit from a lighting plan.

Office Lighting

Having different types of lighting is recommended for an office. Let’s start with the main light. You can choose a light that is striking and interesting, without being too overpowering. Create a space that reflects your personality so you can be more productive and more at ease in this area. Next, we recommend getting a small desk lamp that doesn’t take up too much space but is useful for working and reading your laptop or papers. In this way, you can sit in a low-light environment without harming your eyes. If you have additional seating areas in your office, such as comfy chairs for reading, a tall floor lamp is the perfect choice. By doing so, you will create an interesting and comfortable reading space that is practical, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable.

Bedroom Lighting

The lighting in your bedroom should have more than one source of light, just as it does in your office. To create symmetry, you obviously need two bedside lights, one on either side of the bed. In order to be different and to add style and interest, this can be done through drop pendants.

Dining Room Lighting

If you want a dining room that is perfect for entertaining guests and hosting dinner parties, you can use two sources of light. First, a statement light above the dining table creates a talking point when entering the room, as well as acting as a bit of a feature. This is easy on the eye and simply stunning when finishing off the design of your home, it really sets the tone. Also, introducing two floor lamps in this space is perfect for when you want to dim the lights and switch the ambience up.

Creating a lighting plan will not only help you enjoy your Albuquerque home more but can help sell your home when you decide to put it on the market.
