For us, the best 4th of July is spending it with our family and friends, and there is no better way to do that than a GREAT backyard BBQ! Planning for the day is essential whether you’re planning to have a few people or a bash. But don’t stress; these 5 easy tips will keep everything stress free and a great time for everyone!
Easy Décor– Your décor doesn’t need to be elaborate, just fun and festive. Opt for string lights for fun lighting, some red, white, and blue balloons, and the same for serving pieces, plates, utensils, napkins, and cups. Add fun tablecloths, a patriotic centerpiece complete with small flags, and possibly a few lanterns throughout your yard.
Signature Drink– Choose a signature drink, like a patriotic punch, which can be alcoholic or non, which is simple to make but your guests will surely enjoy. You’ll still want to include a few other drink varieties but keep it simple. Also, ensure you have enough water as the weather tends to be hot this time of year, and you’ll want to ensure your guests are well-hydrated throughout the day. Here’s a great punch recipe that looks great and is super yummy. Adults can add their favorite liquor if they’d like.
Games & Fun– A party isn’t complete without games for everyone. Make sure to include all your party guests. Create some games for the kids, which can be as easy as water balloons, a play yard or inflatables, balls, and yard games. The adults like to have fun, and yard games are for them too. Have an area for Bags, Ladder Toss, Super-sized Pong games, Bottle Bash, and Bocce Ball, to name a few.
Creating the food serving area. This is always a key component. Set up the area from which to serve and equip it with everything you’ll need for that day, including a condiment stand. Instead of putting out varying bottles of all types of condiments, choose jars with spoons and label each with a red/blue sign stating what it is. This conserves table space and messes. You can also lay out where all your side dishes will reside and where your meat & dessert dishes will be served as well.
The food! Let’s face it; it’s one of the best parts of the party! One of the things we love to serve is a BBQ Brisket, and it’s always a crowd pleaser- plus, you can purchase a larger size to serve a big crowd. Choose your side dishes or have your guests bring a dish to pass. This is always a great option as it also allows your guests to feel a part of the day. Desserts should be very festive. Thinks fruit pizza in festive colors, cupcakes decorated for the day, cold treats in red, white, and blue, and more!
However you choose to plan your celebration, make sure to enjoy your day with all your guests!
WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY & SAFE 4TH OF JULY!
